:: About Intel Ireland

Intel Leixlip's Fab 10 facility was completed in 1992 and production of the Pentium® processor line began there in 1994. Fab 14 opened in Leixlip in 1998. Today, the two fabs form Ireland Fab Operation (IFO) and manufacture 0.25-micron and 0.18-micron Pentium® III processors and Pentium® 4 processor chipsets. Production of 0.13-micron Flash technology is scheduled to begin later this year. The Leixlip site employs 3,150 people, with another 1,000 long-term contractors. Intel in Leixlip is also home of the European Post Sales Support group, which handles warranty claims for Intel's European customers.

Intel Ireland is committed to making a positive contribution to the community. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Ireland has twice awarded Intel Ireland its Community Partnership Award in recognition of the company's deep involvement in local community. Intel Ireland has an excellent environmental management track record. Its Environmental Management System is accredited to the ISO-14001 quality standard and it is the first Intel plant to comply with ISO-14001.

Intel Ireland in Leixlip has a gym, cafeteria, an ATM, laundry and dry cleaning services, and convenience stores nearby. There are on-site sports courts, walking trails and even organized clubs, such as the Golf Society, football clubs and more.
